Jim Benedict, PT, PhD. is an assistant professor in the Physical Therapy Program at Youngstown State University. Jim earned his doctorate degree from Walden University in Public Policy and Administration of Health Services. He has a master’s degree from Kent State University in Rehabilitation Counseling and a bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University in Physical Therapy. Jim has been involved with the Midlothian Free Health Clinic, located in Youngstown, OH, since 2009 and currently serves as the President of the Board. He and fellow faculty and PT students from YSU created Penguin Physical Therapy, a Pro Bono PT clinic, located with the Midlothian Free Health Clinic.

Capri Cafaro, MSW, LSW
Capri Cafaro served as the ranking member of both the Senate Medicaid Committee, the Joint Committee on Medicaid Oversight (JMOC) and the Senate Transportation, Commerce and Labor Committee. She was also the Vice Chair of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Higher Education and a member of the Senate Ways and Means, Agriculture, Energy/Natural Resources and the Joint Legislative Ethics (JLEC) Committees.
Cafaro graduated at age 19 from Stanford University with a degree in American Studies. She earned two master’s degrees: an MALS with a concentration in International Studies from Georgetown University, and a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in health and administration from The Ohio State University. Cafaro was previously an adjunct at Youngstown State University where she taught a course on U.S. social welfare policy in their MSW program.

Dr. Cooper splits his time practicing as a physician in the OSUWMC Department of Emergency Medicine and as Medical Director of the Ohio State University Health Insurance Plan. He received his MD, MPH, and MBA from Ohio State where he also completed his emergency medicine residency holding the honor of Chief Resident. He has been a physician volunteer at the Columbus Free Clinic since 2011 and is currently the faculty advisor and one of the Co-Directors. The Columbus Free Clinic is a student run free clinic and Dr. Cooper finds joy and energy helping the student leaders of the CFC to continually expand the quality and breadth of services provided.
